FREYA Knit Dress in Merino Wool - Ash Grey

240 €

With its minimalist design, classic cut, and straight silhouette, it embodies the essence of L'Envers' aesthetic. There's nothing more chic, warm, elegant, and comfortable than wearing a long knitted dress in winter, especially when, like FREYA, it features a turtleneck to keep you warm and side openings for comfortable walking.

Kelly Rutherford Makes Burgundy Look Like the Most Luxurious Color [...] a cozy monochrome look composed of a slouchy turtleneck sweater and a maxi skirt in the same fuzzy material—both a rich plum—from sustainable knitwear brand L’Envers.

"The designer's challenge is to make fashion more responsible, and more particularly knitwear, without even compromising the aesthetic of her cozy sweaters. And it is a success. Ethical, biodegradable, renewable wool, natural colors, cocoon cuts, aesthetic details, eco-responsible packaging... In short, total respect for the environment in the creation of each item. The one we want? All."

"Independent French brand L’Envers is based in Spain and aims to design environmentally responsible pieces to last. Its mindful items are all knitted locally by artisans who have suffered from the textile industry’s epicentre moving to Asia. Head here for classic cuts that go beyond seasonal trends."

a word from our founder

I am Julie, a French mompreneur in her early 40's. After living in Paris, London and Madrid I am now living with my husband and 3 kids in a Spanish mountain village to disconnect from the big city and get closer to nature.

After working in big companies I was keen to embark on my own entrepreneurial adventure in 2015. When I realized that the fashion industry was the second most polluting in the world, I wanted an alternative and launch a fashion brand with a slow and respectful mindset and that would create low impact on our environment.

I am lucky to work in an inspiring sector and to be surrounded by talented people who share the same convictions and ideals as I do. I find it very exciting to dress people in a way that preserves our beautiful planet and respects the people making it!

WE MAKE IT SLOW TO MAKE IT LAST

Artisan Made

Behind our garments are skilled artisans and yarn manufacturers. Each piece tells their story. We launched L'Envers to create an ethical, sustainable brand that celebrates them. From pattern sketching to dyeing, everything is exclusively designed for L'Envers with carefully selected yarns. We've built strong relationships with local workshops, ensuring good working conditions, minimal impact, and lasting quality.

Knitted for you

We don’t want you to purchase something you don’t need and won't wear. This is why we knit our pieces on demand after your order is placed. L’Envers’ ethos lies in the offer of a simple and sustainable garment at the antipodes of that of fast fashion which is quickly produced, quickly consumed, and quickly forgotten. Knitting one item at a time ensures we avoid over-production and preserve our beautiful planet ressources as much as possible.

Fair Prices

We offer a fair price all year long, reflecting the continued quality of our raw materials, the highly skilled know-how of our artisans and staff members. Selling at a discount would mean cutting back on these essentials ressources and offering a lower quality, contradictory to our goal of creating sustainable pieces that you will wear for years. We don’t want to take part in the incessant rhythm of fast fashion's discounts, this vicious system that gets consumers used to permanent low prices where we then find quality products too expensive.
