Raphaëlle - Student

1. Tell us about you…

I’m Raphaëlle, I am studying in Germany for a semester as part of my business school. Since I was a child, fashion has always represented a lot to me and for a while now I have wanted to work in Fashion.

I had the opportunity to live in Madrid for six months the past semester while I was doing an internship at L’Envers. It was a great experience that I would do again anytime!

2. Who or what inspires you?

I have two older sisters and I think they are my biggest role models. Even though a lot inspires me I think that on an everyday basis they are the ones who are able to push me out of my comfort zone and I always admired who they are and what they do. A quite admirative and clingy little sister I’m afraid …

3. What is something you have loved for a long time?

Since I’ve been young I have traveled a lot with my family and it is something that I now really love! It’s always a pleasure to travel alone, with friends or family to discover new countries and cultures and come back to France with lots of memories.

4. What is something you have recently rediscovered?

Cooking. Since becoming a student and living alone I’ve started cooking again and it is something that I really enjoy. It relaxes me after a day at school or at work.

5. What is your favorite object and what makes it special?

The summer of my 18 years old, I went to Japan with my family and friends. I found there a small clutch made of Kimono that I use for my jewellery. I love the idea that my jewels which are dear to me are in a clutch that represents so much as well.

6. What is something you are looking forward to?

I’m really looking forward to the end of my studies, to start working for a company that I like and that inspires me.

7. What does sustainability mean to you?

Until recently sustainability didn’t represent a lot to me, it was something that I knew, was important but I wasn’t doing a lot about. But these last 3 years it really became an increasingly important component of my daily life. I realized that I had to change the way I lived when discussing with people and also after seeing various documentaries as “The True Cost” or “Cowspiracy”. That’s why I decided to work in sustainable fashion.

8. What is your relationship with fashion?

Fashion represents a lot to me. I see it as a way to match my appearance with my personality. It’s a great way of expression that I’ve always liked.

9. Why did you choose this piece of L’Envers?

Before starting my internship for L’Envers I had already spotted the Barbara sweater, I really like this oversize aspect and I mostly wear V-necks. When I started my internship, I got to see and wear the jumper and I just loved it, you can barely feel it yet it’s very warm !
