THE MAGIC OF UPCYCLING

L'ENVERS SUSTAINABLE FASHION UPCYCLED COTTON INDIGO

Working with upcycled fabrics is incredibly exciting. You never know what you're going to find - and most of the time you don't find what you're looking for. It's a bit like permanent serendipity. And suddenly you find something and you know it's the one. The right weight. The right color. The right feel. You touch it, close your eyes, and start imagining all the pieces you'd like to make with it. Magic.

Almost a year ago, maybe a bit less, I think it was January, I stumbled upon this incredible upcycled indigo cotton fabric. I sent some to one of the artisans we work with, Emilio, who does all the dying of our woven pieces. By washing it, we discovered we could get some very unique colors. It quickly became obvious it was the perfect fabric to make our CATHERINE dress and our EUGENIE skirt: a dark and intense blue shade for the colder days. As we kept playing with it, we realized we could even do some more pieces with it... but that's another story I'll soon be telling you about!
